Job Description

Story Health is an exciting new startup transforming healthcare through virtualization of patient and clinician experiences. Story Health is seeking a Patient Outreach Specialist to join our team. Our Outreach Specialists manage outbound and inbound calls to new patients to support enrollment in the Story Health program.

This is a remote position.

Primary Responsibilities (~80% of the role)

  • Make high quality outbound calls to newly eligible patients to explain Story Health programs and get patients enrolled
  • Effectively connect with eligible patients to answer questions, address concerns and communicate key value props
  • Receive referrals from providers and reach out to referred patients to enroll them in Story Health programs
  • Update patient information in electronic medical records systems
  • Schedule appointments for patients with Story Health providers
  • Provide a superb customer experience to new patients

Additional Responsibilities (~20% of the role)

  • Verify patient insurance information
  • Obtain patient consent for treatment
  • Coordinate appointment reminders
  • Request and send medical records
  • Be a key contributor to the early stages of an innovative health tech startup contributing wherever needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years working in customer service or outbound call center environment in a healthcare setting
  • Outstanding phone demeanor and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution and remain tolerant/flexible in all situations
  • Able to take on multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing team environment
  • Passion for implementing technology to improve healthcare and able to quickly learn and use new software and tools
  • Proven adaptability in a high-volume position, ability to meet deadlines and metrics
  • High-speed home internet access
  • Quiet home office space, free of distractions

Nice to Have

  • Fluent in Spanish or another second language
  • Prior experience managing or leading a team
  • Clinical background and experience working directly with patients
  • LPN/CMA or other licensed practitioner

  • $19-25/hour based on experience and qualifications
